Students in kindergarten through 8th grade who live 1.5 miles or more from their attendance center receive free bus service. This service is also available to students who attend kindergarten and who live in walking areas approved as hazardous by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Parents who qualify for bus service will receive information in the mail prior to the school year.
Palos South Middle School was evacuated this morning due to a fire alarm that was believed to be caused by equipment failure. There was no fire, and students and staff were evacuated as a precaution. Classes have now resumed as of 9:30 a.m.
