Communications
The office of Communications and Public Engagement oversees District 118 communications to our families and the broader Palos-area community.
District Communications' areas of responsibility include:
- Community relations efforts to promote District 118 schools, programs, and staff and student success stories
- Responding to media inquiries
- Overseeing response to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests
- District photography and videography
- Maintenance of D118 website and content
- Updating and maintenance of D118 social media accounts
- Oversight of D118 publications including Cardinal E-News, Monthly Board Recap, and Superintendent's Monthly Message

The Cardinal E-News (formerly Courier) is sent out on the second Friday of each month to all Palos 118 families and staff during the school year (August through June). To have information about your non-profit organization or event included in the Cardinal E-News, please send submissions to bstein@palos118.org by the end of day the Monday before deadline.
Graphics should be formatted in JPEG or PNG. Flyers can be sent in PDF format (a link to the PDF on your website is preferred.)
Please send a brief description of the event or activity you are promoting and include contact information (email or phone number if required.)
Materials, which are considered for distribution must:
- Relate to educational goals, curriculum, issues or objectives of the school district and our students.
- Must be student and/or family oriented.
- Be appropriate for the students affected.
Permission will be denied to distributed material that:
- Potentially disrupts the educational process,
- Violates the rights of others,
- May be considered obscene, profane or indecent,
- Requires students to solicit sales, pledges or sponsorships intended to raise funds for outside organizations.
- The Superintendent deems inappropriate.
