Dear Palos South Families,
As you know, the last day of school is approaching quickly. It saddens us that we will not be watching students enjoy their end of the year celebrations, walk around with markers getting yearbooks signed, and watching their waves as buses pull away on the last day of school. We are excited to announce that we WILL be having a "last day wave" after all!
On June 2nd between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., families will have an opportunity to drive their children by the school to wave goodbye. Staff will be spaced apart, wearing big smiles under their masks, and ready to wave to you!
*This is optional for all staff and students.
To prevent excessively long lines on 133rd street, we ask that you adhere to the schedule based on your last name for your "drive-by time" as best as possible.
If your last name begins with A-H: 9:20-9:40
If your last name begins with I-Q: 9:40-10:00
If your last name begins with R-Z: 9:00-9:20
You are welcome to decorate your vehicle, hang a sign on your vehicle, or simply roll down the windows for students to wave! We ask that you drive slowly and remain in your vehicle.
A map of the route is shown at the bottom of this e-mail for your reference.
We are proud of our students, families, and staff for how remarkably you have all handled this remote learning time, and we look forward to culminating the school year with you and making the last day special!
Together we WILL remain STRONG! Thank you!
