Dear Palos 118 Families,
Among the many lessons we've learned over the past year and a half, one that stands out is the importance of our connections with family, colleagues, and friends.
We all need those personal connections in our lives to stay healthy and happy.
As we get back into the swing of in-person learning this year, we're spending next week learning about the importance of being socially inclusive.
Start with Hello Week, one of the initiatives from Sandy Hook Promise, includes a new theme each day with lessons aimed at creating a school experience that's welcoming and connected for everyone. Wednesday is Wear Green Wednesday, where everyone is encouraged to show their support by wearing green for the day. There's a photo op on Friday, a Sherbet Shin Dig, and many other opportunities for students to get to know their peers.
Please check your email from your child's principal for details on their school's itinerary for Start with Hello Week and encourage your child to do their part in helping us to create a school experience that welcomes everyone.
Vaccination Clinic
The IDPH will be hosting a vaccination clinic at Palos South Middle School on Saturday, September 25 and October 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
First and second dose appointments for both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available as well as the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Booster shots will also be available for patients who qualify.
Appointments can be made online through the IDPH website, and walk-in appointments are also welcome. Entrance to the clinic will be through the Rosemarie Carroll Center entrance (Door 1-S).
This Week's Metrics
The school district remains committed to keeping our students and staff safe during in-person learning. Thank you to our families for their continued partnership.
