The 1985 Chicago Bears was certainly the best Chicago Bears team of all time, and possibly the best football team ever to play the game.  Their team was built  around a ferocious defense, led by "Iron" Mike Singletary.  This fearless linebacker led this Bear team to be the top ranked defense in the NFL, and the most talked about defensive unit in Bears history.  This amazing defense certainly didn't lack in personality.  Some of the stars included Richard Dent, William "The Refrigerator"Perry, Dan "Danimal" Hampton, Wilbur Marshall, Otis Wilson, Dave Duerson, and Gary Fencik.  To top this team off Walter "Sweetness" Payton lit up the field with his game dominating runs. 

This talented bunch of energetic characters held 11 of 16 teams to under 10 points or less!  The Chicago Bears went on to finish the regular season with a 15-1 record, with their only loss coming from the Miami Dolphins.  The Bears seemed nothing close to normal.. Their coach, Mike Ditka, wore a tie on the sidelines so he would work up a temper that once provoked him to break his hand punching a blackboard. The Chicago players boasted constantly of their talents, and Coach Ditka warned them only "to back up what you say by playing right on the field."  Luckily, he never had to worry about that.
