The Weekend was Murder

Boo!! This is something that you think a ghost would say, but what if one actually talked to you!! In the book The Weekend was Murder By Joan Lowery Nixon the main character  Liz does talk with a ghost.

The story takes place at the Ridley Hotel at present time. The Ridley Hotel is big; it has nineteen floors, a health club and a pool. It is also luxurious because it has  big suites ,two ballrooms and a restaurant. There is also a haunted room, room 1927. There was a murder there. There is a ghost inside and there are noises that come from the room such as music and crashing. The main character, Liz, works in the health club.

Liz is in her teens.  She has red hair, and she is very tall. Liz is very brave because she volunteers to scream for the Murder Mystery Weekend or the MMW. She is also brave enough to stay alone in room 1927, and she talks to a ghost . Liz is also very clumsey because she spills pop under the table, she  spills food at breakfast, and she trips out of room 1927. She also is very curious because she wants to know who was murdered in room 1927.  She wonders if room 1927 is haunted.

The theme of the novel is that people should be more confident.  Overall,  the novel is okay. The ending could have been better. The author did a good job at leaving the reader with cliffhangers. At the last chapter, she could have left the reader with a cliffhanger, but she didn't, so that was kind of disapointing. It,s not the best mystery book I've ever read. I would recomend this book to anyone who likes to be left with cliffhangers and who likes scary ghost stories. And the next time you hear "Boo!", be afraid ,because you never know who's in the room with you.
