"Oh, and, Watson, bring your revolver." If you find this interesting, then you should read The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The setting is London in the 1890's. The setting is crime-ridden because there are always small crimes, many people get killed, and many valuable things are stolen. The setting is also middle-class because there are many rich and many poor people living there, the houses are nicely crafted, and people wear fancy dressing. Finally, the setting is mysterious because weird crimes always happen at night and the criminals are always who you least expect. The main character is Sherlock Holmes. He is kind because he saved someone's life, found some stolen objects, and helped put an end to blackmail. He is clever because he knows who you are just by looking at you, has a weird point of view, and solves hard crimes. He is smart because he figures out identities, found five orange pips, and solved the Boscombe Valley mystery. The conflict is man vs. man. The theme is always be prepared. The point of view is first person. Watson is the narrator. I would recommend this
book to boys ages 10 and up. I give this book 10 of 10 stars.
