Reviewed: by S.K. Who is Mrs. Graybill's murderer? Why kidnapped Mrs.Langvot`s dog? Sammy wants to figure it out in Sammy Keyes and the Runaway Elf by The story takes place in a village. The village is peaceful because it is quiet and no one talks. People like to be silent. It is spooky because there is no movement, people are never outside, and there is no market. The village is also unsafe because there are kidnappers and murderers, and there aren't any people around to see if you get kidnapped. The main character is Sammy Keys. She is curious because she tries to figure out who kidnapped the dog, and she tries to figure out who kills Mrs.Graybill. She is caring because she goes to the hospital for Mrs.Graybill. Then she is scared because she goes to the village by herself, she goes to the cemetery by herself, and she is alone in the village when she couldn't get the murderer. The problem is someone murdered Mrs.Langvot`s dog. First, she lost the dog. Then, the murderer calls and says that Mrs. Langvot must give him $50,000 and that if she calls the police he will harm her. Then, Mrs.Grabiil dies, and Sammy wants to figure out who killed her. The theme is don't let yourself down, because if you do, you can't help people or do anything. I will recommend this book for kids out there read!
