If you want to read an intense book and a great mystery you should read The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. You will get caught up in its suspenseful plot. It has a great twist at the end of this thrilling tale. The setting will send chills down your spine. The novel is set in the Baskerville mansion on a moor. The mansion has long dark green vines running down the rusted brick walls. The walkway is made up of cobblestone. There is a rumor of a killer dog on the loose. This is just some of the of the scary settings in the book, but you have to read the book to find more. Sherlock Holmes plays a big role in this fantastic novel. He is a brave detective trying to solve this case. He was brave because he may have come face to face with the dangerous beast. Also Holmes is very calm. He is calm because he found the murderer with no excitement. Sherlock Holmes is a very good and important character in this fantastic book. This story has a very interesting plot. Sherlock Holmes and his assistant Dr. Watson have to find the killer of Mr. Henry Baskerville. This deadly killer person/animal is on the loose!! Sherlock Holmes learns at the end of this thrilling tale that what you hear from people is not the truth all the time; you need to listen to your heart sometimes and not to what other people say. This book is fabulous. If I were
you, I would read it. In fact, I am reading it a second time
right now. But there is one thing the author could have done better; he
could have made it a little shorter and not kept stretching the book so
you could have found out what happened at the end. The author did pretty
good otherwise. This book reminds me of my dog because it is just
like the dog in the book. I would recommend this book for older kids 13-18
year olds. So take these helpful clues, and read The Hound of the Baskervilles.
