This book seems like it took place around the 1990's. It took place on an island. The island is deserted. No one has lived on this island for many years. There are no buildings and there is only one home which no one lives in. The island is very scary. On this island there are ghosts everywhere. Also there are snakes living around this island, and there are a lot of earthquakes. The island is a very poor place. There are no crops or food. Also there are no businesses or homes other then one very small and basic one.  But this house is creepy.  Chris, a very brave boy, went into this house.
         Chris and Amy have to get out of an island with ghosts and earthquakes and floods happening on the same day.  Chris and Amy hear a story from Amos, a wise ghost. So they decide they want to go to the island that Amos told them about. When  they go to the island, they see real live ghosts. The book shows that you should not assume before you know the facts. Chris learned not to give  up during this book.
        My impression of this book is it is pretty good. This author used a lot of cliffhangers in this book. I recommend this book to younger readers. So back to the novel, Chris got away, or did he?
