It is dark outside, and there are only a few lights on in the house. Coming down the stairs are a girl and a boy. The girl is named Claudia, and she always thought that she got no respect from either of her parents. To teach them a lesson, she decided to runaway. Claudia thought that it wouldn’t be any fun to leave alone, so she decided to bring her second youngest brother, Jamie, because he had a lot of money. It is about 4:00 in the morning at the kid's house. They finally decide it is time to go. They are ready to go. They are on their way. The kids get onto a bus and start to go farther and farther away from their home. All of the sudden, Jamie asks where they are going. Claudia responds, "We are going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art." Claudia is an eleven year old girl. She is very tall and skinny. She has brown eyes and brown hair. She also has very smooth rosy checks. Her brother Jamie is an eight year old boy. He is very skinny but short. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He kind of looks like a little mouse. They both look like they are related to each other. In the story, the kids can’t decide who made the statue Angel. The kids wonder how they will get home. The kids are sleeping at the museum overnight. They think it is pretty scary there at night because they are there all alone. Whenever a school of kids on a field trip come to the museum, Claudia and Jamie try to pretend that they are part of the field trip, too. But somehow the kids can always tell that Claudia and Jamie don't go to their school. A few weeks pass by, and all of the sudden Claudia and Jamie spend all of their money. Claudia now thinks that it's hard to be on your own. My over all reactions
to this novel is that life alone is harder than it could ever seem and
to love your family no matter what happens. This author left a lot
of cliffhangers, but she could have been a little more adventurous.
This book is o.k. It isn’t that great. If you are adventurous
and like a little bit of mystery, you would probably like this book.
After all you might like it. To me it might not have been that great,
but to you it might.
