The novel is set in New York City during autumn at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  There are many things happening. It is exciting to see all the people. At the museum ,there are many paintings. Many people go to the museum to learn about the history of many things. For example, there are statues and many different exhibits. The museum is a fun place because you get to learn and see different things that you have never seen before. It is a big place with high ceilings and little light. It would be a scary place if you were alone. That is why Claudia and Jamie feel scared , but they also get to learn many new things. 

     Claudia is a young sweet-looking girl that has a lot of knowledge. She is smart and always wants to learn. Claudia and her little brother Jamie run away. They need a plan. With Claudia’s great knowledge, she makes a plan that works perfectly, that is why she gets all A’s in school. Claudia and her brother Jamie plan to sleep in the museum. Claudia is very brave for doing that.  She is also brave to run away to New York City. On that dangerous side, Claudia is a caring person. She cares about her brother and takes care of him. While she is gone, she also cares about her family and sends them a letter to tell them that Jamie and she are doing fine. Will Claudia and Jamie ever go home? 

     At the museum, Claudia finds a statue that catches her eye. She wants to learn a lot about the statue because there is something mysterious about it. That’s when Claudia starts looking for research on the statue. She finds out that Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler used to own the statue. Claudia and Jamie go to visit Mrs. Frankweiler to try to solve the mystery. Claudia and Jamie learned that you should never give up and always keep trying to do your best. 

      The Mixed -up Files of Mrs.Basil E. Frankweiler was a good book. The author used a lot of imagery ,for example the old statue, and used many cliffhangers at the end of each chapter, that made you want to read on. If the author wanted to make the book better, she could  make it more mysterious, so readers will have a fun time reading. This novel reminds me of The Westing Game because it makes you want to keep on reading. I would recommend this novel to people who are adventurous because it has many adventures in it.
