John Faustino


Mr. Faustino has been a member of the Board of Education since April 2009. Mr. Faustino formerly served on the Palos 118 Educational foundation as Treasurer and as a board member for Since 2013, he has been on the Industry Advisory Board of Northwestern University's Masters in Information Technology (MSIT) program.  Mr. Faustino is Head of Index Product Management for a Chicago based financial services firm. He has a B.Sc. in Finance from the University of Illinois, M.S.c. in Decision Sciences from the London School of Economics, M.B.A. from the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, and MSIT from Northwestern University.  Mr. Faustino may be contacted by email at .


MariJo Calacci
Vice President 


Mrs. Calacci has been a member of the Board of Education since April 2011. She is a board certified CPA, has a B.S. in Accountancy, and is a Director at KPMG. Mrs. Calacci currently serves as the Board Secretary and is the Chairperson of the Safety and Crisis Management Committee.  Mrs. Calacci also serves on the Finance Committee and Government and Legislative Committee. Mrs. Calacci previously served on on the District Contracts, Landscape Beautification Committee, the Go Green Committees, and was the board liaison to the Music Program. She was also a previous Chairperson of the Policy Committee. Katie Thomason was elected to the Board of Education in April, 2013.  Mrs. Thomason currently serves as Chairperson of the Policy/Evaluation Practices Committee and is a Board liaison to the PFA and SCOPE.  She is an active member of the community, having serving on the District 230 Student Services Committee, and the Registration and Advancement Chair for Cub Scout Pack 3699.  She has also volunteered for many PFA activities, including Sham-Rock-n-Roll, Art Awareness, Hot Dog Day, Mother-Son Bash, and Daisy Scouts.  Mrs. Thomason has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.  She is currently a Supplier Business Unit Manager with Illinois Tool Works Inc.  Mrs. Thomason can be contacted by email at


Nadine Scodro


Ms. Scodro has been a member of the Board of Education since 2007. She is the Chairperson of the Government/Legislative Committee and the Buildings and Grounds Committee.  Ms. Scodro is Board Liaison for the PFA, SCOPE and the Wellness Committee.  She previously served on the following Board of Education committees: Finance, Landscape Beautification and Policy. In addition,  Ms. Scodro previously served as Board Secretary, classroom volunteer, fluency lab volunteer, Former PFA hot dog day Chairperson, and a Executive Board member of the PFA. Ms. Scodro’s community service includes serving as a Catechist at Saint Alexander Church and being actively involved in many community projects and events. Ms. Scodro holds a B.A. in Education from National Lewis University and is a former commercial insurance broker for RBN & Associates. Ms. Scodro may be contacted by email at


            Catherine Maier 

Mrs. Maier has been a member of the Board of Education since 2005. She currently serves as Vice President, Chairperson of the Communications/Board Technology Committee and TAB Committee. Mrs. Maier also serves on the Policy Committee and is a liaison to the PFA. Mrs. Maier has been a former PFA officer. Her community service includes volunteering for the Children’s Farm in Palos Park. Mrs. Maier has a B.A. in Management Informational Systems from Lewis University, an A.S. in Computer Science from Moraine Valley Community College, and a R.N. in Nursing from the Little Company of Mary School of Nursing. She is a Realtor for RE/MAX Synergy, and a former Computer Applications instructor at Moraine Valley Community College and Trinity College. Mrs. Maier may be contacted by email at

Pam Paris 

Pamela Paris has had many active leadership roles within the district.  Within the Parent Faculty Association she served as chair for cardinal courier, hospitality committee and graduation committee.  She also served on the Executive Board as Treasurer and the President of the Association.  During her time at 118, she also had many opportunities to work with the teachers and administration.  Currently she serves for District 230 as the treasurer for the Stagg Music Boosters and on the Parent Advisory Board for District 230 and thoroughly understand the benefits of the importance of a close connection with District 118 as a feeder district to High School District 230.She is an active member in her church serving as Treasurer and on various boards and committees.  Mrs. Paris is also the former Treasurer and board member of the Association of Women in the Metal Industries and continues to volunteer for other non-profit organizations.  She has worked outside the home but now spends her time in the service of others and looks forward to bringing that level of dedication to the 118 school board.  Mrs. Paris may be contacted by email at

Terry Heafey

Mr. Heafey was appointed as the newest board member at the September 2015 Board of Education meeting. Mr. Heafey was born and raised in Palos Heights and attended Palos East, South, and Sandburg High School. He earned a B.S. in commerce from DePaul University, and is a certified financial planner and president of Brickwork Financial Planning Ltd. He and his wife Jennifer have two children who attend Palos East.
