Annual Laps for Literature Pledge Walk
Thank you very much for your generous support of
Laps for Literature, the benefit walk for
the Palos Media Centers. Thanks to kind
benefactors like you, the students were able to
raise over $7,000.00 for the ongoing project.
Palos East collected $2,289.00, Palos West
collected $3,425.00, and Palos South collected
$1,357.00.
Your donation will
be used for the media center wish list for
books, equipment, software, and periodicals for
the students to use in their pursuit of reading
excellence at school, including special emphasis
on expanding our science selections. A special
selection of books will be dedicated to the
memory of Dr. Rosemarie Carroll.
The
Foundation would like to especially thank the
dedicated staff at each of the schools that
helped plan and co-ordinate the event. The
weather was beautiful for us!! Special thanks
also goes out to the Palos South band who
provided music during the South event as well as
to the Cook County Sheriff’s Department who
provided officers to ensure the safety of South
students whose walking course included the
surrounding neighborhood. Despite the
constraints of building construction, the event
was a fabulous success! The Foundation is
grateful for your support. Thank you once again. |
