1.My printer needs a new cartridge?
Cartridges are housed in the Media Center.  See Ann or Judy.  After installing new cartridges, you need to align them for perfect printing.
2.How do I align the printer cartridges?
Go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, double click on the printer icon.  Go to FILE, to PROPERTIES, then click on the printer SERVICES tab.  Click on ALIGN the print cartridge button and follow instructions on the screen.
3.Words on the printed page are smeared?
Your printer needs to be cleaned.  Contact Judy or Ann.
4.Printed colors are different from screen colors?
Your color cartridge needs to be replaced.  Contact Judy or Ann.
5.My printer sends out garbled letters and symbols?
Shut off your printer and restart the computer.
6.Although I'm printing, the page comes out blank or very light?
Black ink cartridge needs to be replaced.
7.I press print and nothing happens?
Check all printer connections, Go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, and double click on the PRINTER icon.  If the icon is light gray, save your work and restart the computer. (The computer does not see the printer.)  If that does not work, Go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, and double click on the printer icon, a printer box should appear, Go to DOCUMENT and see if the PAUSE PRINTING has a check mark next to it, uncheck PAUSE PRINTING by highlighting PAUSE, releasing the mouse, and then printing should resume.
8.My printer keeps saying it is out of paper, yet the paper tray is full?
Your printer may need to have the roller bars that feed the paper into the printer cleaned.  Contact Judy or Ann.
9.I have installed a new print cartridge, but my printer still does not print?
Did you remove the blue protective strip from the bottom of the print cartridge?  You could have a bad cartridge, or you may need to have both cartridges replaced.
10.How do I print on legal sized paper?
Go to FILE, down to PRINT, once the print dialog box appears, click on the PROPERTIES button, then the ADVANCED TAB and change the paper size to legal.
11.My printer is making a loud banging noise when I print?
Your printer needs to be greased. (We use WD40 or lubricating oil.)  Contact Judy or Ann.
12.At the end of a print job, my printer sends out blank pages?
Blank pages at the end of your document need to be deleted by putting the cursor at the top of the blank page and pressing delete to remove the extra pages.
