Reflections

We took some time to reflect on this engaged learning project. We thought about the entire process, what we learned, what we enjoyed, what we struggled with, and what we will remember.  Here are excerpts from our reflection essays:

Wow, the Our Town project was amazing.  It helped me learn more about civic clubs and my community.  The project showed me that my community is a great place, from its clubs helping the world to its schools teaching our future.  I am proud because my class accomplished its goal and made this project perfect.

I learned that it takes a lot of time to make a web page.  I struggled with making corrections.  It was hard.  I will always remember this project was a great experience for me.

When you work together it really pays off, especially in this kind of project.

I learned that it is important for everyone to do their job right or we won't be successful.

I learned that you need to work hard and work together.

I think that this project was a fantastic way to both learn and have fun.

What I remember most is going to interview Mr. Colella because you could tell that he was very happy to be part of Sertoma.

I will always remember how fun and educational this project was.  Our Town was the best project we did in the whole year.  It helped us develop our teamwork, decide one thing and to cooperate with one another.

This project was awesome!  Working in groups, learning about our town's government and much more.  Sometimes our groups wouldn't agree on things so we had to find a way to compromise.
