The role of the School Social Worker at Palos East School:

·         Provide school based programming to students, on topics such as:
o   Divorce & Loss – Rainbows Program

·         Provide classroom based support services to teachers and students, on topics such as:
o   Friendship
o   Problem Solving
o   Self-Control
o   Peer Pressure

·         Provide individual and small group counseling services to students for school related needs, such as:
o   Management of Feelings
o   Anxiety
o   Social Skills
o   Behavior Management

·         Provide families with information regarding resources available within the community, such as:
o   Counseling
o   Food/Shelter
o   Psychological/Psychiatric Assessment

·         Provide evaluation services for students based on their social, emotional and behavioral functioning in the school system
