MEET the FINE ARTS TEAM

of Palos East

Music: My name is Mrs. Danielle Wetle.  I teach all of the general music classes, grades 1-5, and direct the 4th and 5th grade choir at Palos West, and I teach several general music classes at Palos East.  I began in this school district in August, 1988 after graduating from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education.  I continued at the U of I for several consecutive summers and completed my Master’s degree in Music Education in August, 1993, while serving as a camp counselor/private teacher for Illinois Summer Youth Music camp.  Discovering Orff-Schulwerk during my studies at the U of I led me to pursue more course work at DePaul University in Chicago.  I have completed all three levels in the training course and look forward to working on a Master of Orff-Schulwerk certificate.

In my “free” time, I freelance as a strolling violinist in Chicago, perform with Chicago area string ensembles, and play with the Roy Vombrack Orchestra.

My husband, also a musician, and I have two sons, a golden retriever “Maxwell”, and a cat “Beethoven”.  We reside in the western suburbs and enjoy outdoor activities and making music together!
