To Build a Connected Learning Community

This goal represents the belief that the success of the Mission is dependent upon parents and the community being engaged in the educational process.  Action targets focus on expanding parent and community communication and involvement with Palos 118 schools. 

Action Target:  To develop a middle school parent information portal to provide current grades, activities, and general information about their child’s school experience.

• Timeline: 

  (2008-10) Reporting to the Board annually in May of 2009, 2010.

• Scope:         

  To develop online parent access to current information on their

  child’s school progress, classroom activities, and general school information.

Action Target: To expand communication to the community through a regular program of sharing information though print, internet, and news media.

• Timeline: 

  (2007-09) Reporting to the Board annually in May of 2009, and 2010.

• Scope:         

  To develop a public communication initiative that includes community newsletters, news media, and internet.

Action Target: To develop a student community service experience.

• Timeline: 

  (2008-09) Reporting to the Board in May of 2009.                     

• Scope:         

  To provide pupils with an opportunity to participate in community

  service projects and to connect to the community through practical experience.
