Board Members

Richard Nogal
President
Mr. Nogal
has been a member of the Board of Education since 2003. He
currently serves as Board of Education President and
Chairman of the following Board of Education committees:
West Fields, Buildings and Grounds, Contracts and Safety.
In addition, He also served as the Chairman of the Palos 118
Partners in Building Solutions committee and the Palos 118
Playground Renovation committee prior to joining the board.
Mr. Nogal was also a member of the Palos 118 Educational
Foundation. Mr. Nogal is active in the community and is
Chairman of the Board of Directors at Palos Community
Hospital, a Commissioner of the Palos Fire Protection
District, a director of a local financial institution, a
member of the Student Services committee of High School
District 230 and a former Chairman of the Our Lady of the
Woods Parish Council. Mr. Nogal holds a B.A. from
Northwestern University (Phi Beta Kappa) and a J.D. from the
Northwestern University School of Law. Richard is a partner
at Goldstine, Skrodzki, Russian, Nemec and Hoff, Ltd., a law

Susan Hennessy
Vice President
Mrs.
Hennessy has been a member of the Board of Education since
2001. She currently serves as Board of Education
Vice-President, Board of Education representative to the
South Cook Division IASB, Board Liaison to the District 118
Wellness committee, member of the TAB committee and board
liaison to the PFA and Foundation. Mrs. Hennessy has
previously served as Board of Education Secretary. In
addition, she has been active in a number of PFA projects
and committees including Building Chair, Art Awareness,
Junior Great Books, Hot Dog Day Chairperson, PFA Silent
Auction committee member, and was a room parent. Mrs.
Hennessy’s community service includes Executive Board member
for the Infant Welfare Society, a member of the Palos Park
Plan Commission, a member of the Marist High School Parent
Club Board, a member of the Midlothian Country Club Women’s
Board, and the Good Shepherd Church Junior Bell Choir
Director. Mrs. Hennessy has a B.A. in Education from
Augustana College and also has certification from the
Ingalls Hospital Paramedic Program. Mrs. Hennessy may be

Catherine Maier
Secretary
Mrs. Maier
has been a member of the Board of Education since 2005.
Mrs. Maier currently serves as Board of Education Secretary,
Chairperson of the Board Technology Committee and member of
the following Board of Education Committees: Buildings and
Grounds /Life Safety, Policy, and Finance. Mrs. Maier has
been a former PFA officer. Mrs. Maier’s community service
includes volunteering for the Children’s Farm in Palos
Park. She has a B.A. in Management Informational Systems
from Lewis University, an A.S. in Computer Science from
Moraine Valley Community College, and a R.N. in Nursing from
the Little Company of Mary School of Nursing. She is a
Realtor for RE/MAX TEAM 2000, and a former Computer
Applications instructor at Moraine Valley Community College

Nadine Antonini
Mrs.
Antonini has been a member of the Board of Education since
2007. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Board of
Education Landscape Beautification Committee, and is a
member of the following Board committees: Policy, Wellness,
West Field Development, Government/legislative, Buildings
and Grounds/Life Safety and Finance. Mrs. Antonini is also
a Board Liaison to the PFA. In addition, Mrs. Antonini is a
classroom volunteer, fluency lab volunteer, PFA hot dog day
Chairperson, and a former Executive Board member of the PFA.
Mrs. Antonini’s community service includes serving as a
Catechist at Saint Alexander Church and being actively
involved in many community projects and events. Mrs.
Antonini holds a B.A. in Education from National Lewis
University and is a former commercial insurance broker for

John Faustino
Mr. Faustino
has been a member of the Board of Education since April
2009. He currently serves on the Board of Education Finance
and Technology committees. Mr. Faustino is also a director
of the Palos 118 Educational foundation and currently serves
as Treasurer. Mr. Faustino’s past community service
includes serving as a board member for theaterinchicago.com.
He is Vice-President of Morningstar, Inc. Mr. Faustino has a
B.Sc. in Finance from the University of Illinois, M.S.c. in
Decision Sciences from the London School of Economics and
M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Mr. Faustino may be

Sheila Pacholski
Mrs.
Pacholski has been a member of the the Board of Education
since 1999. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Board
of Education Finance Committee, and is a Board liaison to
the PFA, MPA, and Palos 118 Educational Foundation. Mrs.
Pacholski is also a member of the Board of Education TAB
committee. She has also served as Board of Education
President, Vice-President and Secretary, and was a member of
the Partners in Building Solutions Committee during building
construction and renovations. Mrs. Pacholski was active in
the PFA and MPA and served on many committees and is an IASB
Master Board Member. Mrs. Pacholski holds a B.A. from Lewis
University, graduate work at George Williams College, and is
a certified Public Accountant licensed and practicing in

Kathleen Svanascini
Mrs. Svanascini has been a member of the Board of Education
since 2005. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the
Board of Education Communications Committee and the Policy
Committee. In addition, Mrs. Svanascini is a member of the
following Board committees: Safety and Crisis Management,
Technology, District Contracts, and is a board liaison to
the MPA. She served as the Board of Education Secretary,
and was a member of the Partners in Building Solutions
committee. Mrs. Svanascini has remained active as a
district and school volunteer. Her community service
includes participation in many community projects and
programs, previously serving as a member of the League of
Women Voters and working with local Cub Scout and Girl Scout
groups. Mrs. Svanascini holds a BA and JD from DePaul
University. She is an attorney, with her office currently
in Homewood. Mrs. Svanascini may be contacted by email at
