RELIABILITY AND CREDIBILITY

How do I know if my information is good?

Any good detective has to sift through a lot of information.

How can you tell if the information is accurate?

If you can find the same answer to your question in at least 2 sources, then it is considered reliable.

How do you know if it is GOOD information?  You have to test it for credibility.

        1.  Did the author include first and last name? (The last name is very important because if it is only an initial, chances are that the author is a student just like you)

        2.  Did the author include a title (Professor, Research Assistant, etc.)

        3.  Who sponsored the site?  (Discovery Channel, Arizona State University, etc.)

        4.  Did the author include a bibliography (a list of sources that (s)he used in researching the topic?)

The more questions to which you can answer YES, the more credible is your information!
