Welcome to Reading Resource at Palos West Elementary School located in Palos Park, Illinois.  The education of children is both a privilege and a great responsibility.  We look forward to teaching your children and sharing their experiences with you. The Reading Resource Program provides reading services to students, teachers and parents.  Services are rendered to students in grades K-5 who exhibit reading difficulties.  The goal of our program is to help students acquire effective reading strategies that will enable them to become lifelong readers while enjoying the love of reading. Students receive instruction in a variety of ways: individual, small group and whole class.

Working as a team will provide a foundation for your child's educational and social development.  Parents often ask, "What can I do to help my child?"  We feel the following poem is the start...

Read to me stories of magical times.
Read to me tales about castles and kings.
Read to me stories of fabulous things.
Read to me pirates and read to me knights,
Read to me dragons and dragon-book fights.
Read to me spaceships and cowboys and then,
