MANOR
By: Munther and Joseph
The Manor was a typical ranch. The King, Queen, Serfs, and knights all lived on the Manor. To live in the Middle Ages on a Manor wasn't hard for everybody. The houses of the serfs which were cold, musty, and dark, didn't satisfied them. For security purposes ,windows were built for protection. The windows were small and didn't help alot for those who didn't have the glory of stained glass windows. Many peasants slept, ate, and spent time together. The houses which had thatched roofs were real easily destroyed because of their weak strength. The houses of the wealthy (Lords+Ladies) were luxurious. The houses of the wealthy were much more sophisticated. They had paved floors, awesome windows and strong built houses. The wealthy had fairly decent life. The King and Queen were the most wealthy on the Manor. They lived in a castle which the biggest building on the manor. Their life was luxurious and easy. They had the most power over the people who lived on the manor. They had all the rights in what they can do and what the people can't do. The knights were the ones who followed the kings orders. They would have to train to become one and after he does, there is a special ceremony held and he would be granted a parcel of land on the manor. He would swear to be loyal and never disobey. As you can see in the Middle Ages living on the manor wasn't as bad as for everyone. Mostly everybody got what they wanted in life on the manor.
