HORSES
  By: Ali and Jamie

In the Middle Ages horses were used for two different things.  One was agriculture and farming.  The other use for horses was warfare and the needs of knights.  War horses weighed more than farming horses, because they were stronger from carrying knights, and all their armor. The weight of the horse put more power behind the joust.
People in the Middle Ages hunted while riding on horses. In fact, hunting stagg on horse back became a very popular sport in the Middle Ages.
Often in the Middle Ages people had jousts.  Jousts were used to settle arguments and to entertain the people.  During a joust, a horse would usually be covered with a cloth. Oriental designs or the knights heraldic patterns  were stitched onto the cloth as a form of identification.
