ad star2006-2007 Rebecca Caudill Reading Contest

tThe PFA and the South Media Canter are once again co-sponsoring the Rebecca Caudill contest for Palos South Middle School students.  Any Palos South student who reads 3 of the nominated books can vote in the state election in February.  Readers of 5 or more books will receive a $5.00 coupon to be used at the Anderson’s Book Fair, also held in February.  Students who read 10 Caudill books will receive a $10.00 coupon for the Fair.  Read 15 titles and receive personalized bookmarks.  Finally, students who read all 20 titles will be featured on a READ poster and invited to a pizza party at the end of the school year.  More information is available in the media center.

The Rebecca Caudill Young Readers' Book Award was developed to encourage children and young adults to read for personal satisfaction. It is an Illinois award for outstanding literature for young people and is sponsored by the Illinois Reading Council, the Illinois School Library Media Association, and the Illinois Association of Teachers of English.
