5th GRADE BEGINNING BAND

Palos East Band     Band, as you may already know, is going to take place on Tuesdays before school this year in addition to your child's normal music class time. The start time will be 8:00 a.m. in the gym unless otherwise notified. Please drop your students off at the gym entrance promptly at 8:00 a.m. and be aware that there is no adult supervision for students who arrive earlier. Students should enter through the gym doors only. The schedule is as follows: Tuesday September 9:       Woodwinds only (flutes, clarinets, oboes,bassoons, saxophones) Tuesday September 16:     Brass and Percussion only (all percussion, trumpet, french horn, trombone, tuba, baritone) Tuesday September 23: Tuesday September 23:  Full band from now on unless otherwise notified.

Palos West Band

 

Besides the regular band practice during the

school day, there will be before school practice

at 8:00 a.m. every Thursday in the band room

beginning Thursday, September 11th for woodwinds only

UNIFORM CONTRACT FOR ALL SOUTH STUDENTS

 

The following guidelines have been put into place for all band students.  It is expected that each student come prepared to each concert

and dressed in full band uniform, as outlined below.

 

6th Grade Band Students:

Black Concert Jacket

White, long sleeved, wing-tip collar shirt and black bow tie*

Black dress pants**, no jeans.  Ladies also wear black slacks.

Black socks

7th Grade Band Students

Black Concert Jacket

White, long-sleeved, wing-tip collar shirt and black bow tie*

Black dress pants**, no jeans.  Ladies also wear black slacks.

8th Grade Band Students

**Pants should not drag on the ground.  Hem pants to 1&1/2" from the bottom of the shoe.
