"Words can never adequately convey the incredible impact of our attitudes toward life.  The longer I live the more convinced I become that life is 10 percent what happens to us and 90 percent how we respond to it."

Charles R. Swindoll

ATTENTION:  EVACUATION DRILL

Student safety is always our first priority.  You received a notice informing you of an evacuation drill to be held on Monday, May 12, 2008.  At this time, we are cancelling the drill.

The evacuation drill practice will be rescheduled for the first quarter of the 2008-2009 school year for all three schools in District 118.  Again, the safety of our students is always the rationale that guides our decisions.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

NOTE:  NO AM BAND ON TUESDAY.

Rehearsals are done for the year!

IMPORTANT

NOTICE:

A new health requirement for 6th grade students will be in effect for the 2008/2009 school year.

A physical examination is now required for students prior to the first day of entering 6th grade.  Current fifth grade students who received a physical examination within one year of entry into 5th grade will be compliant with this new rule.  The physical examination provided for entry into 5th grade in Fall 2007 will be honored for entry into 6th grade in the Fall 2008.

If you have any questions regarding the 6th grade physical requirement, please contact Darlene Sierzega, our Palos East School Nurse at:  708-448-1084 ext. 25.
