Located in Cook County, fifteen miles southwest of downtown Chicago, Palos Park is a unique residential community bound on all three sides by forest preserves, hilly terrain, ponds and springs. Palos Consolidated School District 118 serves approximately 2,000 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade.  District 118 is home to three schools; Palos West Elementary, Palos East Elementary, and Palos South Middle School.  The district draws students from Palos Park and portions of Palos Heights, Palos Hills, Orland Park, and Worth.    District 118 residents value quality education and contribute in many ways toward the maintenance of a superior school system.  District 118 students consistently score well above state and national norms, recently being honored as achieving in the top 10% of Illinois school districts.
